Hit the ground running hit the ground running never let me down Heading up like it was nothing up, up in the clouds I know you'll make me proud It won't always be this way it's bound to change But this boy wouldn't be here Run run, you're made to wherever you land is where I'll find you this boy wouldn't be here oh boy It's been a minute in a new light I get older and now I know you differently it doesn't matter that you change I just adapt and re-arrange who you are will always be who you are It never goes away it just goes in waves This boy wouldn't be here if it wasn't for what you did this boy wouldn't be here if it wasn't for what you did Run run, you're made to wherever you land is where I'll find you this boy wouldn't be here oh boy And there's no going back but would you really want that?

Sun bright-eye sun come undone till I recognise you sun found someone still feeling numb to all of your light what can I do Like every moment of space in between us our eyes open wide tracing movements of genius Love don't leave too soon chase the afternoon you weren't meant to do this alone In the dark and in the rough trust you are enough in the light or in the rough in the end you'll never not be enough Moon trouble moon spoke too soon I string out a lie to pull you closer to the truth Like every movement of faith in between us our souls open up to more than Mars more than Venus Love don't swing too soon chase the afternoon we weren't meant to do this alone In the dark and in the rough trust you are enough know you'll never be short of love in the end you'll never not be enough

Touchdowns and number plates open arms, driving late little fears dissipate flash a smile, worth the wait Past life photo frame fly on a window pane your voice, not the same white noise, pouring rain You know I'm gonna see you again you know I'm gonna see you again eyes close and count to ten you know it's just a matter of when Fresh start featherweight old duels, checkmate new rules, capitulate ditched plans, I can relate Waiting to start again (tu sais que j'ai hâte de recommencer) know I'll weigh in when your faith is wearing thin You know I'm gonna see you again you know I'm gonna see you again eyes close and count to ten you know it's just a matter of when Touchdowns and number plates open arms, driving late your love, a figure eight flash a smile, I can't wait

In a Haze 04:29
15.01 fell into the blue left lace undone are you dreaming too? Strange kind of smile stretching out for miles I float on through looking straight through you Hours, days, when you blink they feel the same can't hold your gaze out of place like a middle name A rooky recluse with a plausible excuse piece by piece coming loose A life of make do monetise, turn the screw the more you speak the less it's you We'll make it through like we always do

about

I started writing Never Not Be Enough sometime before the pandemic. Back then it was a bare bones instrumental with some hummed melodies and a refrain that I was trying, without success, to get sounding less exactly like a Michael Jackson melody that had taken up permanent residence in my head.

It was only during 2020 when normal life began changing that the song found its voice. I starting writing lyrics that were about a good thing in my life, something strong that hadn't gone crazy along with the rest of the world. After that, the rest of the song fell into place.

And ultimately that's what I ended up wanting to do with the EP. I wanted to put a voice to the things that hadn't been lost.
